Death by Chocolate Brownies Recipe Ingredients: For the Brownie Batter:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon PURE vanilla extract

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup GUITTARD COCOA ROUGE cocoa powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon CELTIC SALT

  • 1 cup GHIRARDELLI semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Chocolate Ganache:

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 2 cups GHIRARDELLI semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Chocolate Drizzle (Optional):

  • 1/2 cup GHIRAREDLLI white chocolate chips

  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two opposite sides for easy removal.

  2. Prepare the Brownie Batter:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar and cayanne pepper. Mix until well combined.

    • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

    • Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.

    • Gradually add the dry and wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

    • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

  1. Bake the Brownies:

    • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.

  1. Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:

    • While the brownies are baking, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it simmer. Remove from heat.

    • Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.

    • Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and let it sit for a minute to melt the chocolate.

    • Gently whisk the mixture until smooth and glossy.

  1. Assemble the Brownies:

    • Once the brownies are out of the oven, let them cool in the pan for a few minutes.

    • Pour the prepared chocolate ganache over the warm brownies and spread it evenly using an offset spatula.

  1. Chill and Set:

    • Place the brownies in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the ganache is set.

  1. Add the Chocolate Drizzle (Optional):

    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips and vegetable oil in 20-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth.

    • Use a spoon or a piping bag to drizzle the melted white chocolate over the chilled brownies.

  1. Cut and Serve:

    • Use the parchment paper overhangs to lift the brownies out of the pan.

    • Place them on a cutting board and cut into squares.
